Civil Engineering 

 

The construction industry in Israel is rapidly advancing, playing a significant role in accelerating economic growth.  It includes the planning and construction of various types of buildings for private and public purposes, such as residential buildings, public structures, offices, factories, entertainment centers, and more. Employers in this industry include construction contractors, government agencies, local authorities, coordination, supervision, and management firms, entrepreneurial ventures, as well as infrastructure and site contractors.  A Certified Civil Engineer is involved in all areas related to the management of construction sites, management of the execution of the structure at construction sites, and supervision of the execution on behalf of the contractor, client, or local authorities. Graduates who continue their studies and specialize in building planning can work in building planning in design offices.

 

Upon successfully completing the program's pedagogical requirements, which include internal and external exams, as well as defending their final projects, graduates will be rewarded with a “Civil Engineer Certificate/Diploma” in the sub-track of Construction Management from the College and The Government Institute for Technological Training (MHT).  For those continuing their studies in the sub-track of Building Planning who fulfill the program's pedagogical requirements will be rewarded with a “Civil Engineer Certificate/Diploma” in the sub-track of Building Planning from the College and The Government Institute for Technological Training (MHT).  It is advised to consult the MHT website and relevant government ministry sites for -up-to-date information on the responsibilities of certified civil engineers.

 

The curriculum emphasizes technological education, enabling students to utilize digital tools for learning and professional purposes. The students will be acquainted with the latest innovations in construction materials and methods, instructed according to contemporary standards, and trained to integrate into the technological sphere with a paramount emphasis on safety protocols at construction sites.

 

The subjects to be studied include mathematics, architectural drafting and construction drawing details in AutoCAD, introduction to drafting and AutoCAD, safety, building studies, reading construction plans and measurements, construction theory, building materials and tools (laboratory), construction materials, geodesy (theory of measurements), labor laws and employee management, planning and building laws, electro-mechanical systems, construction organization and management, construction management software, roads and infrastructure (development works and equipment), site organization and equipment selection, engineering design, computer-aided design, structural drafting in AutoCAD, workshops, construction trades, inspection control and quality, soil and foundation, steel structures, light construction and wood, workshop on structural design of buildings, final project and workshops.
